Personal Statement

Growing up in Cartersville, Ga., winning is not only a tradition, it is a standard. So being a part of a winning Georgia State Championship football team my freshman year was exciting because that helped me live out that standard. In my sophomore year however, we lost in the second round of the playoffs, and watching how it affected my team helped me learn valuable lessons on how to lose graciously, become a stronger team player, and how important personal hard work is toward all goals. In my junior year, that hard work paid off because although we did not win the championship game, we made it there against all odds.

My personal experience in my junior year as a leader on the field, led me to become a better leader off the field.  I learned how to be more comfortable when meeting new people, asking important questions, encouraging others, and trying new things and ideas.

I am looking for a collegiate program that will be a good fit for me academically as well as athletically. I have the talent, work ethic, character, and commitment to compete athletically as well as to be an asset alumnus of a good collegiate program. I look forward becoming a part of your prestigious team.
