Personal Statement
My goals of a collegiate student athlete is to further my education and graduate w a bachelor degree. It’s always been a goal to play collage football and what makes me accountable for any team is that I will work really hard on the field weather it’s practice or not. I’d take extra reps or practice on my own if it’s necessary while getting it done in the classroom.
Football is my first love, I was 5 years old when I caught my first catch. I remember it like as if it had happend yesterday. It was a Sunday afternoon and the Steelers were playing the Falcons. My uncle (which I refer him to like a father in my life) was a big Steelers fan. Terrible towels hanging on the walls and banners and jerseys were worn on game day. I was new to the whole football thing I didint have a clue on what they were doing. It was halftime and me and my cousins and sister decided to go outside and run around in the front yard. My uncle brought out a football and it caught my attention, my eyes were focused on the ball like as if my life depended on it. He threw the ball at my cousins a couple of times and would drop it. My uncle threw the ball at me and I didint know what to do. I sat there with my arms togther trying to catch the ball. He told me to put my hands together and catch with my chest or my hands. At first the ball would go through my hands when it was thrown to me. It hit my face a couple of times trying to make a catch. With many fails attempts and a jammed finger, he threw the ball lightly so that I could jump and catch it. I caught the ball with both of my hands together, my uncle was cheering laughing and smiling when I caught the ball. Half time was over and the game was back on. Everybody rushed to the living room and my uncle handed me the ball i knew from that day i wanted to play football for the rest of my life.
