Personal Statement

My name is Corey Jalen McQueen. I have always loved all sports involving balls, but it was not until I started playing football all other sports were no competition. I just turned 12 years old and have been playing in the Pop Warner jr leauge for about 5 years now. I have so rightfully earned the title of MR ALL PURPOSE MAN from coaches. I play for the LA Demos Pee Wee division. I am good at all positions.  You can put me in at wherever and I can preform. I want to take this football thing to the next level. My stepdad is a dedicated coach. My mom and grandma are willing to do anything to help my dreams come true. I have a twin brother who has always played 2 divisions up because he is so big, he plays nose guard and center. They call him burger and me hot dog. I can't wait to goto high school so we can play together.  I am slim, fast and think with the right team helping me I can one day go pro. I know that's alot of boys dreams so I do have a back up plan. I am smart and will goto college and finish if football does not work out. I have had some college coaches say to me I am good and have potential that makes me feel good and encourages me to want to take football to another level.  I will only be going to the 8th grade next year but I want to start branding myself now so when the time comes I am ready. I am a little shy and I don't want to be. My coaches look to me to lead the team and depend on me to be at every game. I have had coaches try to recruit me from other neighboring teams, but my mom won't let me leave she says I don't understand now but will when I am grown, she is teaching me a lesson in loyalty and always finishing what you start. We the Demos are good but there are a couple teams out there that are better than us. I  want to attend a private high school. My first choice is Serra High in Gardena CA. I know that private schools are high but my mom told me if that's what I want to do she will break her pockets to support me. My mom and have been talking about what high schools I want to attend when I was in the 5th grade, we talk about colleges and becasue she has her MA she gives me insight into what schools are good to goto for sports. She tell me all the time if you want to play ball don't goto any school she went to Howard U or Pepperdine U. My first chioce is University of Oregon, UCLA, USC and I have fall back schools on my list too.  I just a little need direction.
