Personal Statement

My name is Matt Kaires and I am a student-athlete currently attending Smithtown East HS. I play Wide Receiver /Tight end, Defensive End, and Long Snapper. I am a strong athletic WR/TE and long snapper with intensity for teamwork. My goal is to get a good education and play football in college. All-Division as a junior, Mr. Dependable Award, Sophomore JV Leading Receiver. Ended the season with 20 Tackles, 4 Tackles for Loss, 2 Sacks, 3 Receptions for 55 Yards. As a sophomore (14 Catches, 8 TDs, 437 Receiving yards in 6 games) I am 6'0" / 215lbs / 4.9 40 yard dash, 255lb bench press, 500lb Deadlift, 325lbd Squat. 3.4 GPA

I enjoy working with my teammates to better ourselves as a team and achieve team goals. I made the National Junior Honor Society and maintain a 3.94 GPA, and made highest honors 2 years in a row. I take pride in my passion and leadership on the field. I am a hard-working teammate, who will not stop until I have achieved my goals and have reached my maximum potential. I have started playing when I was five years old in the PAL and played travel since I was eight. I was elected as one of the league’s best receivers throughout my playing years and was invited and attended several NUC combines and played in the Youth All-American Game (North vs South). I plan on continuing my football career at the high school and college level and will work hard to excel both in the classroom and on the field.
