Personal Statement

My passion for baseball is equal to my desire to get an education.  I have been playing baseball at the highest level since I was eight years old.  It has instilled confidence, discipline, teamwork and a hard work ethic on the field and in the classroom.  Most important is has presented an opportunity to receive a college education.  I am excited about matching up with a school that would best fill my athletic and academic interests while at the same time contributing my best to that school.

I am a junior in high school and have been on the Varsity Baseball and Varsity Track teams my entire high school years.  My freshman year, I played center-field in the State 5A Semifinal game.  We lost 2 – 1.  I have played center-field since I was eight years old.  My greatest strength is speed, running a 6.29 in the 60 yard dash at “Perfect Game” and a 10.57 in the 100 meters race in track and field and Long Jump 23’.  In 2013 I was named to the 28-5A All-District 1st Team and All-South Texas 2nd team.

I am currently ranked in the top five percent of my high school class.  Honors classes are an important part of my high school daily schedule. “Give-up” is not in my DNA.  I will bring to college the same work ethic and desire that has led to my achievements in high school. I not only want to play baseball at the highest level, be a student athlete, but also receive the best education possible. It would be a dream come true for me.
