Personal Statement
Playing at the college level has always been a dream of mine and a goal to strive for. I love playing on a team full of girls who have the same drive and energy as myself. I strive to always give my all and work hard, on and off the field. I am a very competitive player, and I love to win, but I also love to have fun. Softball has taught me so many lessons, like there is no substitution for hard work; and that this is a game of failure, but you never give up.
I use my speed to my advantage, which has made me a versatile player, learning to slap/hit/bunt and play many different positions. The past two years, I've played the outfield to more utilize my range; and over the years also played second base, shortstop, and third base using my quick glove and footwork. Off the field, I work out, continue to get faster, and work on my mental game, always looking to improve my play in anyway, and I think that makes me a coachable player.
Although softball is a huge aspect in my life, so are academics. My goal is to attend a college that has my academic major and a strong softball program. As a sophomore, I'm again taking 4 honors classes, and even with softball almost everyday of the week, I continue to get good grades with a 3.6 GPA. I also participate in Best Buddies, The Humane Society, and the Yearbook Committee extracurricular clubs at my school.
Last year as a freshman I made my high school varsity team as the starting short stop. We had the accomplishment of winning our conference's divisional championship for the first time in over 10 years. For club, I play for the Polar Crush Premier and enjoy being coached by all college coaches and learning from their approach to practice and games.
My goal is to find the right college for me where I can push myself in the classroom and on the field and continue to play the sport that I love.
