Personal Statement
My name is Dylan Thompson, and I’m a junior at William T. Dwyer High School in Florida. I’ve played sports year-round my entire life, but football has always had my heart. There’s no other feeling like the adrenaline rush of running down a field or the bond of being part of something bigger than myself. From the moment I first put on pads, I knew this was what I was meant to do. Playing college football is not only the next step in my journey—it’s part of a lifelong dream that ends with playing in the NFL, wearing the green and white of the Philadelphia Eagles.
What makes me a strong candidate is my versatility and work ethic. I’ve played multiple positions on the field, which has given me a deeper understanding of the game and the ability to anticipate plays. I’m constantly analyzing situations to make the best possible decisions and be a reliable asset to my team. But I know talent alone isn’t enough—it’s about showing up, putting in the work, and staying hungry. Last summer, with no ride to practice, I rode my bike 40 minutes each way, through the heat and rain, just to be there. I never missed a day. That’s the kind of dedication I bring to everything I do.
Academically, I hold myself to the same high standards. I’m an honor roll student with a weighted GPA above 4.0, and I take pride in balancing my responsibilities in the classroom and on the field. I believe true success comes from being well-rounded—in character, athletics, and academics.
What sets me apart from other recruits is that I don’t just play football—I live it. I bring heart, discipline, and resilience to every part of the game. I’m coachable, eager to learn, and ready to earn my spot every single day. I’m not afraid of hard work—I welcome it. I want to be part of a college program that challenges me, pushes me, and prepares me not just to reach the next level, but to lead.
Thank you for considering me as part of your program. I’m ready to give everything I’ve got.
