Personal Statement
From the moment I was born, the odds were stacked against me. I entered the world with serious gastrointestinal complications that required major surgery. Doctors warned my parents not to expect me to survive and later told us that playing contact sports would never be an option. But at six years old, my parents took a chance and signed me up for flag football—and from the first snap, I fell in love with the game.
Since then, my passion for football has only grown stronger. The road hasn’t been easy, but I’ve never let setbacks define me. In 8th grade, I broke the growth plate in my left ankle just two games into the season. After months of focused rehab, I earned a starting spot on the Freshman team the next year—only to suffer a broken collarbone mid-season. Once again, I committed myself to recovery and came back stronger, earning a starting position on our district’s 7-on-7 summer team.
Through dedication and perseverance, I made the Varsity Football Team for the 2024–2025 season. Although I didn’t start, I made the most of every opportunity—scoring a 55-yard touchdown and making several key runs throughout the season.
Outside of football, I’m proud to represent Silsbee High School as a member of the 2025 Varsity Track Team. I was one of four athletes who earned the title of 2025 Area Champions in the 4x200 meter relay. That experience taught me the importance of teamwork, speed, and resilience—qualities I bring to every sport I play.
I also balance academics, athletics, and a part-time job at Sonic, all while staying active in my church youth group. My family and I regularly volunteer during the holidays, giving back to the community that has supported us. I draw strength from my older brother, who recently graduated with the prestigious Chesty Puller Award from the U.S. Marines. His dedication inspires me every day.
My dream is to play football at the collegiate level—not just because I love the game, but because every part of my journey has been about overcoming adversity, pushing my limits, and proving that anything is possible through hard work, faith, and heart.
