Personal Statement
As a young female athlete, it has always been my goal of mine to play soccer at the collegiate level. I have set standards for myself at a young age to achieve my dream and my goals. My education is of the utmost importance to me, and I plan to further my education by obtaining a degree in Sports Science and specializing in Athletic Training/Physical Therapy.
Soccer to me isn’t just a sport or a hobby, it’s my peace. It is my place where everything that is going on in my world is silenced when I am on the pitch. Soccer has impacted my life in ways I could never repay the game. The only way I could even remotely express my gratitude for this game and the impact it has had on me as an athlete is to be an impact in the game and to it. I am a problem solver who welcomes failure as my biggest teacher. I don’t rely on motivation every day, but I depend on my discipline. Every move needs to be impactful, every run needs to have intention and every pass or shot on goal needs to have a purpose. Soccer has taught me life lessons that no textbook could ever scratch the surface. I get one shot, one shot to be better than the standard, one shot to rise above the bars that have already been set, one shot to leave my mark. I may not have it all figured out at the moment, but what I do know is that I won’t ever give up on my goals or myself.
