Personal Statement

My name is Matthew Diaz I began playing High school Football my sophomore year at Mater Academy Charter Middle High School located in Hialeah Gardens, Fl. Through months of hard work and dedication I've homed in on my skills and at the end of my junior year I earned All County Third team In the Spring of 2025 I was recruited by Nationally ranked Miami Northwestern High School, coached by NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.  I am a driven and disciplined player on the field and in the classroom. I thrive under pressure; I demonstrate my commitment by increasing my knowledge of the game by watching film and working on my strength conditioning and technique. Furthermore, on the weekends I attend an offensive line group sessions which are taught by former Division 1 players which has helped me tremendously in developing my technique. My goals as a student athlete, is to attend a university in which I can excel both in the classroom and on the field. Academically, I have not yet chosen a career path, but higher education has always been on the forefront of my plans. My character has always been one of a team player, I accept constructive criticism from both my teammates and coaching staff, football is a complex game with a lot of moving parts and I welcome any information I can obtain that can further my knowledge of the game.
