Personal Statement
I have played baseball since I was four years old, I love the game, and ever since I stepped on the field I have dreamed to play collegiate ball. I know that playing collegiate baseball is an experience that will change my life. I am a strong defender in the outfield, and switch hit, my main passion is pitching. My collegiate goal is to take my team to the national championship and win it all. However, my academic collegiate goal is to get a degree in both kinesiology, and sports medicine, for my life after baseball. I train hard everyday perfecting my craft, and maintain a grade point average of ninety-four's and above. I am also committed to being a student-athlete and putting in the work on and off the field. I will attend every practice, maintain good grades, follow the coaches plan. The way I will do this is by being loyal to him not complaining about playing time, as I know it will come eventually with the hard work I put in on the field, and off the field in the classroom, or spending my own free time practicing.
With this I have experience, in other aspects, that have helped me to be a great leader, and a good teammate. Throughout high school, I participated in basketball, and cross country. Taking part in these sports taught me great teamwork, and ethics, that even when you feel exhausted and can't run any more, or defend you keep going, because the reward at the end is worth it. In basketball, I was team captain at school for eighth through tenth grade, and captain for my travel baseball team since I was ten years old. Being captain taught me that no matter how I am doing a good attitude is needed because the team depends on you to guide them. All these experiences have helped me to improve at baseball and become the player I am today.
Lastly, I am also in the National Honor Society at my school, and always have perfect attendance. My parents have taught me great values, that I will follow my whole life, and throughout my sports career. For college I want to attend somewhere that will push me to be my best, and help me achieve my lifelong long dream of playing in the MLB. My final aspiration is to always be a great example for my peers, and to make my parents proud.
