Personal Statement

I’m so excited to share my goal of playing college volleyball one day. I just finished my freshman year of high school and I’m heading into my sophomore year—and volleyball is seriously my favorite thing ever.

I just wrapped up my fourth season of club travel volleyball, and it’s been such a fun and challenging experience. I’ve learned so much and feel like I’ve really grown as a player. During the summer, I also play beach volleyball at Hyden Beach, where I get coached by John Hyden (a retired AVP pro and two-time Olympian—how cool is that?!). It’s definitely helped me get better and pushed me to work harder.

School is super important to me too. I’ve got a 3.8 GPA and usually make the honor roll. I try my best to stay on top of schoolwork while playing volleyball because I want to be successful in both.

One thing I think that makes me stand out is my attitude. I always try to be a supportive teammate, stay positive, and put in the effort—on and off the court. I love encouraging others and helping out however I can. I’ve also done some community service, and giving back is something I really care about.

My dream is to play volleyball in college, and I’d be so grateful to be part of your team someday. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this!
