Personal Statement

My name is Ava Rushing, I am a junior competing in track and field at Plainview Highschool and I am set to graduate in 2026. As a dedicated athlete specializing in shot put and discus, I consistently strive to push my limits and achieve new heights. Out side of throwing I enjoy lifting weights, lifeguarding, meeting new people, hanging out with friends, and finding ways I can improve myself. My PRs are 134’2 (discus) and 41ft (shotput). Academically, I have maintained a 4.9+ weighted GPA, been recognized as an honor roll student, received merit awards for academics, and am enrolled in dual credit.
