Owen Amey is a 2026 OF/MIF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Pittsburgh, PA who attends Moon. Medium athletic look with some present strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow and open stance with a leg lift trigger, some drift into contact, loads his hands tight , pretty direct swing with some extension through contact, lots of pull side barrels, has the strength and tools to keep improving as a hitter. 7.29 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, has a quick first step to the ball and works through the ball well, quick transfer and release, some effort throwing but makes accurate one hop throws. Also worked out in the infield, arm works better in the outfield, has good lower half athleticism moving into and through the ball. Very good student. OFFENSE- Owen had a very solid balanced starting point. Before the swing starts he was in a good position to do some damage, athletic and relaxed. As the swing starts, make sure you stay strong throughout the contact point. Think like you want to hit the ball a long time instead of a short burst. Owen's best results were when he stayed in the middle of the field, think about attacking the L-Screen! DEFENSE- Owen had solid action and showed potential for further development. Make sure you are aggressive when attacking the baseball. Also, after you complete the throw, follow in the throwing direction aggressively. Use a long hop instead of trying to get the ball to the end point on a fly. That will take some time and practice. PITCHING – Owen had a strong back leg throughout the duration of his delivery. Showed an advanced feel for the strike zone. Make sure when throwing off speed you follow through and stay long through the delivery. Work on keeping a high front side and separating over the rubber. Thank you for taking time to view my profile. My name is Owen Amey (NCAA ID# 2502520622). I am a class of 2026 student-athlete playing summer travel baseball for West Hills Baseball (Pittsburgh, PA). I have also played for Xpress Baseball National (Fairfax, VA) in the fall. I just completed my junior year at Moon Area High School (Moon Township, PA) where I started in left field for the varsity team and had the team high batting average.

I am a reliable and versatile defensive player who leads vocally and by example. In both 2023 and 2024, I started at every position on defense including pitcher and catcher. My coaches have confidence in my arm/glove, knowledge, and experience to move me around to positions that put our best defense on the field to compete.

I am also a reliable, versatile, and productive offensive player. I am a disciplined contact hitter who gets lots of quality at bats at the plate. Whether it's a sac bunt or fly, hit and run, or just pushing the ball through the right side, my coaches always have confidence in me to come through in clutch situations.

I am an excellent student and plan to pursue a reputable business degree and play baseball in college at a very competitive level. I am focused and have a lot of drive and passion to be great. I’m a humble leader and an encouraging teammate. I am dedicated to my team and respect the game, including coaches, teammates, umpires, and fans. I really enjoy competing both with and against my teammates. I also love having opportunities in pressure situations that make me a better person on and off the field.
