Personal Statement

My name is Shaylee Carnes, and I am a sophomore at Gretna High School. I have been playing softball since the age of seven and currently compete as a pitcher, first baseman, and utility player for both Gretna and Nebraska Thunder 15U Martinez. Softball has always been a passion of mine, but I also take great pride in being a dedicated student-athlete. I strive to balance my academics with the demands of competitive athletics, while also being a supportive teammate, friend, sister, and daughter. I value hard work, accountability, and continuous improvement, and I am excited for the opportunity to grow as both a player and a person at the collegiate level.
