Player notes - Top 2025 DB recruit Silas Davis possesses the raw athleticism and gritty style of play that projects extremely well as a top 2025 nickel back recruit, as he reminds me of a much younger version of the Honey Badger with his disruptive style of play. Davis is able to stick his back foot in the ground quickly after coming out of his backpedal and abruptly close ground to break up would be pass attempts with his keen ball tracking skills. Upon arrival at the football, Davis proves to have the physicality needed to drive ball carriers abruptly to the turf and/or dislodge the ball from the receivers grasps. Silas is very sound in man to man coverage and is able to use his excellent hip mobility to quickly flip his hips up the field to stay in the inside pocket of receiving targets. Davis will look to build upon a fantastic start to his young career with Frisco LoneStar HS (TX) and possesses the capabilities to become just as decimating to opposing offenses as Tyrann Matheiu was during his time at LSU.
