Personal Statement
My name is Adam Miller, and I am a 6’2 225 lbs defensive end for Strake Jesuit College Preparatory school. I discovered a true passion for football during my sophomore year at Strake when I decided to switch to defense and my position coach gave me a chance to play at defensive end. As a sophomore, I weighed I was 6’0 165 lbs and did not bring much to the table physically, but I used my speed to make up for my lack of physical power. I gave 110% every day, and worked on improving my ability at my position to prove to my coaches that I was worthy of playing for their team. In the two years since then I have kept that mentality, I have gained 60 lbs in weight and have worked to improve my strength exponentially. A key motivator for me to stick with it is that as my coaches saw my effort, they invested in me, and I promised myself that I had to make good on that investment. I am dedicated to my coaches and myself to continue to get better at my position, and to continue working on my strength and agility. I love to compete and can not wait to see what this next season brings.
