Personal Statement

My name's Cole Wetherington (NCAA #2403247012), and I'm a junior at Venice High School in Venice, Florida.  I'm a versatile athlete (6’2” and 240 lbs) and have started every varsity game since game 1 of my freshman year.  I've started at MLB, OLB, and most recently DE during our 2024 7A Florida State championship season, where I recorded 92 tackles and led the defense in forced fumbles.  I’m looking forward to my senior year and defending our state championship. 

 

I’m currently enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Engineering Program at Venice High School and currently carry a 3.7 GPA.  I look forward to my continued growth as a student and as a football player in college.  Academics are important to me, but I also want to attend college and play football at a program that takes football seriously and competes for championships.
