Personal Statement
I've always enjoyed competition since a young age. My parents pushed us to try athletics, and I was instantly hooked. I love the brotherhood that is formed through the course of a season, and I love getting lost in the game as it's played. Playing college football is my dream and all I'm asking is someone give me a shot. My family has always had to scratch and claw to earn the things we have, and I take that mentality with me going forward as I strive to play college ball. My parents split up at an early age and we moved a few times when I was younger. Dealing with these issues taught me to face adversity and overcome it.
If I could tell a coach about myself, I'd say that you might recruit bigger linemen, you might recruit more "talented" linemen, but you WILL NOT recruit a lineman that will outwork me. I am a student of the game, and I spend my free time studying my opponents, myself, and other offensive linemen that I can learn from. School, gym, football, family and that's the things I focus on. I will make my teammates better during practice, I will pick my teammates up during the game, regardless of if I'm on the field with them or not. So, if you're looking for a player that has that DOG in him, I'm your guy. God has brought me this far in life and I trust him to "coach" me through this process and lead me to the right program.
I'm not very concerned by where I land to play ball, all I care is that I get that opportunity somewhere! I will use my unmatched motivation to succeed both on and off the field and in the classroom. I will fight to make my teammates and myself better each and every day as I pursue my dream of playing at the collegiate level. I have faced adversity in many aspects of my life, and I want to use those lessons to help me become the best student athlete I can be and represent my family!
