Personal Statement

My name is Gus Corsair. I am an offensive lineman in the class of 2027 at Hays High School in Hays, KS. I have always set very big goals for myself. One of those goals is to play college football. I believe that you must always work hard for what you want in life. I am dedicated to this dream of mine and will do anything to make it happen. I also take being a student-athlete very seriously. I have consistently earned good grades and I strive to maintain equal dedication in the classroom, as well as the football field. I try to be a leader on and off the field. I believe leadership is best shown by example, so I commit many hours working out in the weight room and trying to improve my speed and agility.

During my freshman season, I started all 10 games for our Hays High Varsity Football Team at Left Tackle. I was also the backup Center and played a few snaps at that position during the year. I was able to compete against high level competition throughout the year and competed against many juniors and seniors. Our team made it to the Regional Championship Game in the 5A playoffs, but unfortunately our season ended there with a 7-3 record. We were the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Champions for the fourth straight year, and I look forward to leading the team for at least 3 more title opportunities. I have enjoyed every opportunity and worked to improve in every game and every snap.

I am honored to be selected 1st Team All-Conference in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), Sports in Kansas 1st Team All-State (Non-Seniors), and a FBU Freshman All-American for my Freshman season. On December 18, 2023, I competed in the FBU Freshman All-American Bowl in Naples, FL and played for Team Impact. I played every snap of the game at Left Guard and had a great experience competing against the best players in the Class of 2027.

I am now focused on my offseason training, and I will continue working hard to improve my skills. I am excited for what the future holds, and I look forward to working towards my goal of playing college football. Thank you for your time and consideration.
