Participated with the Hays High School varsity at the Washburn University Team Camp. I enjoyed competing with my team and the opportunity to play varsity offense. We saw many good teams and players. This allowed us to get quality reps against live action. I played Left Tackle for the duration of camp.

Personal Statement

My name is Gus Corsair. I am an offensive lineman in the class of 2027 at Hays High School in Hays, KS. I have always set very big goals for myself. One of those goals is to play college football. I believe that you must always work hard for what you want in life. I am dedicated to this dream of mine and will do anything to make it happen. I also take being a student-athlete very seriously. I maintain a 4.0 GPA and I strive to maintain equal dedication in the classroom, as well as the football field. I try to be a leader on and off the field. I believe leadership is best shown by example, so I commit many hours working out in the weight room and trying to improve my speed and agility.

I have started and played in all varsity games during my freshman and sophomore seasons. During my freshman season I played left tackle and was able to compete against high level competition during that entire year. Our team made it to the Regional Championship Game in the 5A playoffs, but unfortunately our season ended there with a 7-3 record. We were the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Champions for the fourth straight year during my freshman season, and I was honored to earn 1st Team All-Conference in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), Sports in Kansas 1st Team All-State (Non-Seniors 4A-6A), and a FBU Freshman All-American for my freshman season.

I moved to center for my sophomore season, where I was responsible for identifying the defense and making all our offensive blocking calls. I enjoyed playing center and being the leader on the offensive line. Showing my leadership potential allowed me to be selected as a team captain, which was a very great and humbling honor. We played a very difficult schedule this year with four teams from the 6A classification, two of which played in the west division 6A Sub-State Final. This competition did allow us to develop as a team and helped me as a player, which helped us to work together through the playoffs and play for the 5A State Championship. Unfortunately, we lost to an excellent St. Thomas Aquinas team, but this was an experience that will continue to shape me as a player. I was again honored and humbled to be named 1st Team All-Conference in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), Sports in Kansas 1st Team All-State 5A, KSHSAA Covered 1st Team All-State 5A, and Sports in Kansas 1st Team All-State (Non-Seniors 4A-6A). I look forward to next season where we can hopefully finish with a 5A State Championship.

I will now shift my focus to off-season training and workouts. I plan to work hard in the gym and on the field to increase my strength, speed, and agility. I will be attending several camps and combines during the spring and summer. I look forward to continuing my recruiting process and hope to speak with several coaches to find the program that will provide me with a long-term commitment and foundation to work towards my goal of playing offensive line in the NFL.
