Personal Statement
I am a high school Junior (2026) who is very passionate about football and dedicated to achieving my Collegiate goals. I am excited to have the opportunity to tell you about what makes me a good candidate for your school .
Football is extremely important to me, and so is my education. Being a student-athlete means juggling both, so I asked my parents to hire a tutor to help me keep up with my schoolwork. I'm determined to maintain a GPA of at least 3.5 while playing High School and College football.
I've been playing stand up DE/Edge Rusher for eight consecutive years now and I'm really proud to say that I've been the team leader in sacks and quarterback pressures nearly every year I've played. Coaches always say that I have a motor because I'm always giving 110% in practice and games!
I also ran track at 10 years old. It was a lot fun, and with no formal coaching I even came 4th in the 60m at Nationals! I've also been really lucky to get personal training in football from high school and college coaches since I was 5 years old, and recently from a couple former NFL players including my cousin Greg Spires (2003 Super Bowl Champion). All of that training has helped me become a well-rounded athlete, which is really important to me.
But what sets me apart from other players is my determination to always improve.
In 2022, I played on the travel team City Life Raptors in Washington, DC and we ended up doing pretty well nationally. I realized then, that I needed to get bigger, stronger, and faster if I wanted to play at the in high school. So I asked my parents if we could move to Florida or Texas to play against the best kids possible, and they agreed! My father and I moved to Houston, Texas at the start of this season, and I've been putting in a lot of hard work to build up my body. When I first arrived, I was 5 feet 10 and only weighed 138 pounds. But with the help of my father, sister and coaches, I've already gained a lot of muscle and right now I'm 6 feet 3 and weigh 225 pounds at 16 years old!
I'm a student-athlete, and I'm all about football! I really want to do well in school and football. I think I'm a great fit for your team because I have a good attitude, I'm athletic, I'm physical and I work hard in school.
Thanks a for reviewing my profile, and I hope we can chat more real soon!
