Personal Statement
My name is Tate Kowalik and I have been playing football ever since I could walk. I am the youngest of three brothers and have always been pushed to be academically excellent and morally straight. I take coaching very well and have great respect for those who study the game. Team Culture is the most beneficial aspect of a football program. By teaching the underclassmen technique and leading by example in terms of respect, hard work, and fun, I benefit Marquette University High School football to the best of my ability.
Other than Football, I surround myself with a lot of varying interests. I am on my way to becoming an Eagle Scout through Boy Scouts of America. Scouting has not just taught me how to survive in the woods, but how to lead a team to survive. Music is also very important to me. I have been playing guitar for over 4 years, both being the lead chair in my school's Jazz band, and also a private instructor. Alongside guitar, I am active in my school's drama department. Last year I won an Outstanding Lead Performer award for the state of Wisconsin for my role of Moonface Martin in the musical Anything Goes. Balancing the arts and athletics has made me a well-rounded thinker and performer.
At Marquette University High School, I carry a 3.78 unweighted GPA. While Marquette is already very academically rigorous on its own, my course selections have always been the most challenging I can take. I love to push myself to be the smartest I can. Education has always been of the utmost importance to me. In addition, I am the class president and the captain of Marquette's student ran composting initiative.
Thank you for taking the time to look into me. I am happy to be looking for the next step in my life.
