Personal Statement

When I started playing flag football in the 4th grade I found a passion for this sport. I then transitioned into JFL where I continued to grow my knowledge, love, and passion for the game. I took on many assignments and continued to grow on and off the field. By my 7th grade year I was in charge of calling the defense and also had learned three other positions on offense.  My hard work and dedication continued to show at practice and on game days. Part of this comes from my passion and love for the sport, but the other part comes from watching my older sister work so hard at her craft of softball. Having an older sibling not only gave me someone to look up to, but it gave me a mentor. It prepared me for team sports because my sister is like a teammate. She congratulates me on my accomplishments and helps to correct my mistakes.

I want to do my part and always grow from my mistakes and from my accomplishments. There is always something to learn, and I feel that it is hard to learn if you have a closed mind and ears, so I strive to always keep both open. I am always trying  to take my game play to the next level and that comes with not only on, but off the field work. It's the extra in extraordinary that makes you achieve great things. I workout and do drills early morning before school, at practice, after practice, in the rain, and in the extreme heat. While my dream is to play at the very top level of the sport, I also know that education is key. A strong mind is the key to everything. My parents have been very influential in my education. I want to maintain a 4.0 grade average in high school and plan on continuing that throughout college as well.  Another goal of mine is to pursue a degree in the medical field.  I want my coaches to know that I am not only a student of the game, but I'm a student in the class room.
