Personal Statement

My passion for baseball, teamwork for collective success and my own personal development have been foundational since I was five years old. Certain coaches from my t-ball days up until the present day have influenced me, shown me my strengths and weaknesses and encouraged me to persevere and work hard for what I believe in.  My eleven years in baseball have taught me many things. First and foremost, I have learned to respect my coaches and mentors even if I disagree with and/or do not understand their decisions on game day. Second, I have an appreciation for the camaraderie required to make a team be successful regardless of players' backgrounds, personalities and motivations. Last, baseball has helped me get in tune with myself in terms of finding the passion inside of me, the grit to continue under the most difficult circumstances, and the composure to remain cool, calm and collected - especially as a pitcher - when the odds are stacked against the team. I carry my calm demeanor, my desire to always be a better version of myself and my faith in the people around me to end in the best result possible.
