Personal Statement
I am a hard working honor student who puts my academics first and foremost. I played and excelled in many sports and activities (gymnastics, volleyball, dance, cheer) before picking up softball later than most at age 12. I'm fortunate that I did because I found my true passion in life. It's absolutely what I want to do in college and hopefully in some capacity after college. With lots of hard work I've been able to go from local rec league player to now playing "B" level travel ball in a few short years. Part of me regrets not picking up the game earlier than I did but maybe if I played it from a young age I would have lost interest or be "burnt out" so I'm thankful it happened the way that it did.
I just finished my freshmen season with my high school and will be starting my summer tournament season and summer camps soon. I played a majority of the school season with the JV team but did get a few opportunities to get in some varsity games. I finished the season leading my team in several offensive categories including runs, triples, walks and AVG/RISP. I was really proud of that last one as hitting especially with runners on is something I've really been focused on improving about my game. This spring I played shortstop and second base for my school team. During the summer I'm looking forwarding to not only playing middle infield but also getting some opportunities in the outfield. I have the ability to play both and don't have a preference. I enjoy and excel at both!
I have committed myself to training for softball year around even though I live in a cold weather state. Weight room/gym 3-4 days a week and field or cage 4-5 days a week. Lighter workouts while in season. I really enjoy the process of working towards tapping my full potential.
As a '26 I have not specifically made any assumptions to this point on what level of college softball I want/can play. Although I do feel that I have a ton of untapped potential that I will continue to progress towards and find and I thoroughly look forward to the recruiting process and journey.
