Personal Statement

My name is Avery Torres. I started as a water boy in Pop Warner football at the age of 6. Soon, I joined the team at the age of 7 with the Metuchen Bulldogs Pop Warner and became a linebacker. I was moved around over the years but fell in love with playing as a defensive end. I never stopped playing football, and now I am a starter for the Metuchen High School football team as a junior, playing both defense and offense, and sometimes special teams.

My overall stats in 2024 are 15 total tackles, averaging 3 tackles per game, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery. My contribution to the Metuchen Bulldogs high school team has helped us reach the first playoff game since 2014. Our season is not over yet, so please stand by as we aim for a championship!
