Personal Statement
Football is my passion. Since I was a very young boy, I have wanted to play football. After a few years, my parents listened to me and allowed me to join a local team through the school district in Cypress, Texas at age 8. After playing in this team for one year, I earned the right to play on two traveling leagues which were highly competitive playing all throughout Texas . The experiences that I have gained through football have shaped who I am today, balancing my time between training and acedemics, drive to wake up early run / lift / complete drills and a high competitive spirit. I like the fact that it is a team sport and that every position must do their job for the team to be successful. I have played both offense - O line, Tight End and defense - D end, Defensive Tackle and Outside Linebacker. Prior to starting football, I studied Tae Kwon Do and became a 1st Degree Black Belt. I learned about martial arts, discipline and competition at a very early age.
I train year round for football - lifting weights : Bench 225, Squat 420 and Deadlift 405, I attend camps to improve my skills and also have a speed coach where we work on my 40 : 5.0, 5 - 10 - 5 : 4.33. I am teachable and flexible, learning new plays and positions. I have also taught several younger boys how to train and shared drills that will make them more successful at football.
Outside of football, I enjoy the outdoors whether it be fishing, hiking or hunting. This allows me to connect with nature and test my skills in another venue. I also enjoy traveling with my family.
In the classroom, I study hard and have been able to balance my sport and maintain straight As through my freshman year. This is important to me, as I want to be a student athlete and ultimately attend University where I can continue my learning journey and also push myself to be the best athlete / football player for the team. I am open to all options and want to find the right school that meets my education goals and can push me on the field to compete at the highest levels.
I am excited about my future and look forward to continued growth.
