Personal Statement

Hello Coaches…

My name is Jaiden Cotton and I am a 6’0”, 185lb Sophomore, Class of 2027. I currently have a 3.48 GPA and attend Mansfield Lake Ridge High School in Texas. I have been playing football since the age of four. I LOVE the game of football and all it represents, being a team member, showcasing my talents, putting in the hard work and being a part of a brotherhood. 

I am extremely proud of what I do on and off the field. I work hard to learn and keep my grades up. I plan on attending college and furthering my education to earn either a Business or Finanance Degree if not both to someday become an entrepreneur. During the season and off seasons, I work hard training either on my own or with my trainers to get bigger, stronger and faster to perfect my craft at my position while also continuing to be a student of the game. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. This summer, I will continue to do more community service with my family to help others and animals. 

This past season of my Sophomore season, I was the starting Running Back on JV. Per my Position Coach, the Varsity already had three Seniors and one Junior Running Backs. My Position Coach informed me that I would move up to Varsity after playing at least three JV games. He said he already had a Varsity Jersey saved for me. He also informed me that he preferred for me to get guaranteed reps on JV and not to just have me standing on the sidelines on Varsity. By mid-season after dominating on JV, I proved to the Coaches and to the team that I would be more helpful on Varsity. Once I was moved up to Varsity, I immediately earned equal reps as the starting Running Backs. In some cases, I got more reps because I was the Hot Hand. 

Currently in Spring Ball, I have earned my starting spot over the returning Junior. I will continue to work hard for my team and myself to keep this position. I will also continue to work hard to show my dedication to my team, my coaches, my family and to myself every single day. 

My ultimate goal is play in college to help my team and Coaches to win a Championship, while earning my degree. I hope to also be one day drafted to the NFL. In fact, I WILL BE drafted to the NFL!!!
