Personal Statement

My name is Jaiden Gurley. I live in the City of Powder Springs, Georgia. I'm in the Class of 2027. I attend McEachern High School under Head Coach Kareem Reid. I have always been an A/B honor roll student in the Advanced Program and STEM. I'm a National Beta Club member. Academics is key when it comes to me and my family.

My dream is to play on the collegiate level, majoring in Engineering, and one day play amongst the greats in the NFL. Things that separate me from most players are that I’m a scholar in the classroom, have a high football IQ, team player, am coachable, and am very disciplined. These things I’m confident that all my coaches and trainers will tell you, including my teachers. I participate in track and wrestle as well.

I started playing football when I was 8 years old in the 3rd grade. I've played every position on the offensive line and defensive line. During middle school, my body began to change, and Defensive End became my primary position. My parents always encourage me to be a student of the game which has helped me a lot when I'm on the field. Following every season, I ask my coaches what 2 things are at least I can work on during the off-season. I share it with my parents, and we get it done.

I love spending time with my family and friends, playing video games, and going on vacations to the beach. I'm really laid back and like spending my time at home.

I'm looking forward to my upcoming sophomore year as I've earned a starting varsity role at DE/DT this spring (2024). GO INDIANS!!!!!
