Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Charles McDaniel and I’m a student-athlete at Leonard High School. I’m 17 years old, 6 feet tall, and weigh 230 pounds. I play both middle linebacker and tight end—two positions I take a lot of pride in because they let me be physical, smart, and a leader on the field. I wear jersey number 11.

Right now, I squat over 465 pounds and bench over 295. I work hard in the weight room, but I also train with a personal trainer outside of school to stay sharp and always improve. I also play on a 7-on-7 team, which helps me stay competitive in the off-season and keeps my game fast and focused.

I currently have a 3.85 GPA. I take honors classes. I know being a student-athlete means putting in the work both on the field and in the classroom.

Most importantly, my faith in God keeps me going. Through every challenge and every win, I lean on Him for strength, direction, and purpose.

Football is a big part of my life, but I also really value spending time with my family. They’re my support system, and they keep me grounded no matter what’s going on. I’m very optimistic for my senior year, and I’m excited for what’s to come. I’m always looking for ways to grow as a player and as a person, and I’m ready to make the most of every opportunity ahead.
