Personal Statement

As long as I can remember football has been a love in my life. When I started playing flag football in the first grade and my Dad became one of my coaches it quickly became something that we both enjoyed. I started full contact football in the third grade as a fullback and realized that I wanted to play this sport for as long as I could. 

After covid stole what was supposed to be my first spring practice as an incoming freshman and our head coach left slightly before the world shut down, I was a little disheartened about my freshman season. However, I did what needed to be done and became one of only two freshman starters. I did my job consistently on special teams and as QB2. The start of summer practice for the 2021 season was a little interesting after a mowing accident left me with 8 stitches in my big toe, but I still showed up every day and learned all I could. The beginning of the 2021 season gave me my first high school start as QB1 as a sophomore. Being a starting fullback from third until 8th grade gives me a great advantage over most QB's who may be afraid to hit and be hit. My first season as a QB was my 8th grade year and it was amazing. I knew I had found my place. 

I plan on improving my ACT score the fall of 2022 and also improving my GPA. 3.0 is good, but I know I can do better than that. I have not narrowed down my course of study for college-the possibilities are endless! I might like to give coaching a try-I enjoy teaching others about my favorite sport. 

Track season 2022 gave me a new role as well-I became the first seed for our discus team. I had never thrown discus before and I found it challenging, but very enjoyable. My personal best for 2022 was 119'7" and I intend to go above and beyond that in 2023. I was able to place third in sectionals in 2022, but that is not good enough for me.
