Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Julia Valentini, and I am a junior in the class of 2024 at Prospect High School in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. I play outside back for Chicago FC United's 2006 Pre-Academy Red team and would like to share a little bit about myself:
- I started playing soccer when I was five years old and have loved the game ever since!
- I play outside back on the varsity soccer team at Prospect High School since my freshman year. I was honored to be selected as 2022 and 2023 Mid Suburban League All-Conference Player, 2022 Daily Herald Cook County All-Area Honorable Mention, and 2022 and 2023 Prospect Soccer Hardest Working Player (voted by teammates).
- For the 2022 season, my high school team was Conference Champions, Regionals Runner-Ups (lost in PKs), MSL East Division Champions, and Knights Invitational Champions! We also set a school record by only giving up 15 goals the entire season, with a Goals Against Average of 0.71 goals per game.
- My club soccer team competes in USYS National League, and my club, Chicago FC United, was recently voted into SoccerWire’s Top 100 Girls Soccer Clubs.
- I was selected to compete on the Illinois ODP 2004-2006 State team and also invited to the Regional ID Camp in the summer.
Off the pitch, I am a very dedicated Honor Roll student with a cumulative GPA of 4.6/4.0. I plan on pursuing a career in Engineering in the future. I love to get involved in and out of the classroom! I am a member of National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society, and Prospect High School's Associated Student Body Executive Board and will be a Blue Leader my Senior Year. I also participate in Service Club, Women In Stem, Peer Tutoring, and UKnight for Minds (a mental health awareness group).
I hope to find a school that is both an academic and athletic fit for me. I appreciate you taking the time to learn a little more about me!
