Personal Statement

Basketball has been a passion of mine since I was about 6 years old when I was the only girl on my first team.  Over the years I have developed a love for the sport.  I have played school basketball for 11 years and played on AAU teams for 8 years.   I have also played volleyball 1st through 7th grade, varsity high school softball in 8th grade and tried track for a short time, but my heart and passion always pulls me back to basketball.

I just completed my senior year season and scored a total of 519 points this season, with a single-game high of 40 points.   I was also honored with Player of the Week and named to the All-District Tournament Team for the last 2 seasons.  At the height of 5'8", I am a strong player in not only the guard and shooting guard positions but also the post and forward positions.   While I know offense is key, I also enjoy playing defense and stealing and blocking shots.  I am a versatile player and fill stats across the board in every game.  I continue to work on a jump workout to increase my vertical jump.

My skills and ability on the court are not the only thing that makes me a good player.  My work ethic and dedication to the game helps me to be a good teammate and student of the game.  I strive to always make myself better as well as my teammates and not settle for average or good enough, and eventually reach my goal of playing at the college level.
