Personal Statement

My name is Emma Biesterveld, and I am a 2026 5’7 RHP/1st player from Floyd, Virginia and currently attending Floyd County Highschool. As a freshman, sophomore, and junior, I played on varsity, and I was the starting pitcher. Softball has been a key part of my life since I was a little girl. I want to play softball at the collegiate level and will do anything in my power to be the best player I can be on and off the field. Softball has given me lifelong friendships and valuable lessons that will always stick with me. Academics are also a very important to me. I currently maintain a 4.39 GPA. I want to go to a college where I am not only challenged in by softball but also in my academics. I am interested in majoring in Architecture and will be taking classes to expand my knowledge in this subject. Playing softball in college is a goal I have set for myself, and I won't stop working until I achieve that goal.
