Personal Statement
For me, football is the ultimate and greatest team sport and I plan to do whatever it takes to compete at the collegiate level. I crave competition and have excelled in basketball, track, and golf but nothing compares to the excitement I feel playing football. For as long as I can remember, my family has spent our free time together watching, practicing, or playing sports. Of all the sports, it is football that has taught me that every man on the field must be successful so the team can achieve that common goal of winning. Because of this, I have learned to use my leadership abilities and relentless drive to not only push myself but also my team.
I have received the "True Grit" award for my perseverance and toughness on the football field. I have been nominated and accepted into the LEAD program for academic and leadership excellence. I am a Superintendent Scholar, national junior honor society member, consistently on the A honor roll, and an active member of student council. I have also spent the last 2 years volunteering as a 1st and 2nd grade basketball coach for my community.
The balance between academics and sports is important to me and I am grateful for my relationship with Jesus and my family to support me with this challenge. My goal is to continue to work hard enough to play football and earn a degree at a great college.
