My love for softball began when I started t-ball at 4 years old. A lot of kids pick grass but I was in every play always wanting the ball. Always wanting to be in the play. It's probably why I wanted to initially be a pitcher. In every play. Taught myself a wind up by watching YouTube. I felt like I could help determine outcomes and be a leader on the team. When I wasn't pitching I was playing middle infield. Still feeling like I was in every play. Still a leader on the team. A severe Psoas strain pushed me towards focusing my energy on honing my skills at middles and although I pitch at the high school level my love for middles has taken over. My goal is to play middle infield at the collegiate level for a softball team with supportive, strong, knowledgeable, competitive, humble when necessary but also extremely confident, hardworking teammates. Teammates I can look up to and look to for advice, for encouragement, to have on my side in competition. Teammates who want to WIN the way that I love to win. A diverse team is so important. And a Coach who leads the way and sets the example is imperative. I've watched women like this play since I was little at college games or from the comforts of my own living room on TV and always dreamed I could be one of them. I would not ask for these qualities in my teammates if I didn't have them myself. I would bring to any team, hard work, determination, a commitment to being better everyday, and a drive to help my team win in whatever way I can. I consider myself very athletic. I think playing multiple sports throughout my life helped in that regard. I consider myself someone who sees the ball well. Who has quality at bats. Who has unselfish at bats. I do this by working weekly on batting with a coach or on my own. I take school very seriously and work hard to keep my grades at a 3.7 or higher every semester. I have plans to do something in the medical field but undecided on exactly what but I enjoy math and science and medicine. How do I differ from other recruits? Not sure. I've played with so many awesome young women my whole life and the thing that's been so great is that we are all different. Not sure I can pin point exactly what that is. But isn't that what's so great about it all? I know it's the reason I love this game so much.
