Personal Statement
I’m a 2024 graduate. I’ve been competitive for as long as I can remember, no matter what I wanted to do, I wanted to win. This competitive nature has led me to want to play at the highest level possible, which the next step is college.
I started off strong in my freshman year, starting as a freshman on varsity playing left back but I tore my ACL in the third game of the high school season. In my sophomore year, I became the starting center defensive midfielder and a key leader of the team. This time, mid-season, I tore my ACL again. The thing I feared the most happened for a second time. I did not end up getting the surgery because I was determined to help our team. Playing through this injury, I was voted captain as a sophomore, All-Conference Honorable Mention, and I helped our team get to the sectional final, sealing that victory with the fifth penalty kick.
I received the surgery for a second time after competing with my club team's appearance in the National League P.R.O. and know that I will come back stronger. Given the work I put in, I was able to have temporary clearance at 6-months post-op to compete with my club team at the National Championships in Orlando, FL in July 2022. Although we did not advance through our pool (finished 1-1-1), we competed hard against the top teams in the nation.
I was voted captain as well as First Team All-Conference my Junior and Senior years as I helped to lead my team to back to back WIAA State appearances. I was named Team MVP, Second Team All-State, and Great Lakes All-Region. Our team also won the Classic 8 Conference title for the first time in 6 years.
For the 2023-24 club season, I will be playing left back for an outstanding FC Wisconsin ECNL team.
