Lauren Pelikan, sophomore, Villa Duchesne
Pelikan made a strong impact in her rookie campaign last season and continued that again this fall. The midfielder tied for fourth in the area with 20 assists and added six goals to help the Saints to their thir
with sophomore Lauren Pelikan, junior Margot Leary and senior Katie Crump lurking in the midfield in anticipation of the next Bombers’ pass;In the final moments, Pelikan intercepted a pair of long passes and sent them back into the Villa offensive zone.
That way was mapped out by sophomore Lauren Pelikan, whose anticipation in the midfield created several takeaways, and sent the Saints into prime scoring areas throughout the second half.

Burst on to the scene with seven goals and 10 assists for a Saints squad that advanced to the state semifinals. Saved the best for last with five goals and 11 points in Villa’s three state tournament contests.

Personal Statement
My name is Lauren Pelikan and I attend Villa Duchesne. My long term goal and dream has always been to play collegiate level field hockey. I have been playing field hockey since I was 6 and I have never wanted to stop. Academics are one of the biggest priorities for me. I am always pushing myself to be a better person off the field and a better player on the field. I thrive in an environment that pushes me harder. Every time I pick up a stick I make it a point to learn something new and improve my game. Being coachable is also something I strive to be. Being a good teammate on and off the field is what I hold myself responsible too because I believe that teamwork goes a long way on a team.
