Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Matthew Walker, and this fall I will be a Junior at San Antonio Veterans Memorial. Last season was a great stepping stone as we moved closer to our team and personal goals. We had a successful year, and to make it better when it was complete I was voted on to the Veterans Memorial Leadership Council where we set standards and make sure our teammates have what they need to be great. I have grown up watching my two older brothers, Tommy and Joshua Walker, play in high school and on the collegiate level at Texas Lutheran University. They have taught me that getting great grades is just as important as being great on the field and I see they are right every day. My immediate goals are to work hard and lead Veterans Memorial to a State Championship by striving to be the best on and off the field, and let that take me to the next step to play college football.
