Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Michael Perrelli, and I’m a 2026 graduate middle infielder from Ridgefield High school, which is located in Ridgefield, CT. I am also an outfielder, and it is my secondary position. I love to put the team on my back and hold each other accountable for good team attitude and effort, no matter the score of the game. I have a reputation of being put lead off in the batting order throughout most of my baseball career, for my ability to put the ball in play consistently, get on base at a high rate, and run fast. My base running has seen major improvement as I am able to score more often after getting on base then in the past.
I’m an extremely hard worker who is willing to push myself to exhaustion. I am the person who makes people tell me that I need to cool down from all of my individual effort. People that include baseball teammates have communicated how much work I put in compared to other people, and I only plan on making faster baseball progress. I was awarded the “Tiger Pride” award for best attitude on my JV team in my sophomore year, because of my attitude at both practices and games. Playing at the college level has always been a goal for me, and I have always been willing to do whatever it takes to solidify myself a spot on a roster.
I am planning to specialize in my strengths of speed and agility offensively and defensively as well as my ability to put the ball in play solidly, and to get on base. I have seen areas of the game that I was weak on in the past improve through working out. This part of my game has been getting better rapidly, and I’m learning how to use my strength to my advantage.
