Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer since I was three years old and right from the beginning I knew that this is what I wanted to do for most of my life. I am 6 feet tall and weigh 145 pounds, and I currently play for the Seattle Sounders Youth Academy. I offer a lot to a team, most of all, my composure on the ball, being a playmaker, and organizing players to be where they are supposed to be. My understanding and vision of the game is very good. I expect a lot out of myself as a player and always feel like I have to be making an impact on the game. Some of my most important accomplishments in soccer have been winning two state championships and two regional championships, becoming a finalist in a national championship, and playing with a professional youth team in Germany (1. FC Nuremberg). Since I was nine years old, I have had the opportunity to travel to Italy and Germany several times to play with club and professional teams. These experiences taught me to be more open and adjust easily to new situations. I am looking for a school that is medium to large in size, public or private, and preferably a Division 1 college. I am open to geographic location. I haven’t really narrowed down what I would like to major in but I am looking into subjects such as architecture, business management, and sports medicine. My athletic goal is to make it to the highest competitive level possible and be able to make an impact on a team at a young age. I am confident that I make a difference in the success and outcome of a game based on my ability to bring a different style of play to a team.
