Personal Statement

Greetings, My name is Connor O'Neill and I am a senior at Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak, NY (Westchester County) who will graduate with the Class of 2013. I have been a two-way starter for the Lakeland Hornets playing left Offensive Tackle and Defensive Tackle since sophomore year. I was named team captain as a junior and this year as a senior. In addition to sports, I have been a class officer every year since I was a freshman. Academics are just as important as football is to me and I take Honors and AP classes. I have been on the Honor Roll and was awarded Distinguished Student in English twice. I also hold a part-time job at our local hospital. My height is 6 feet 3 inches and I weigh 290 lbs. My fastest 40 time is 5.12 seconds. I bench 330 lbs. and squat 405 lbs. I have played football since the fifth grade at a competitive level. It is my desire to continue playing at the college level. I am looking for a school that can utilize my abilities along with providing a solid academic challenge whether it is a large university or small college. I have not decided on a major yet but plan on using this year to contemplate my choices. I would like to attend a school in Northeast but would travel a bit farther if the school was the right fit. Thanks for taking the time to review my profile and highlight video. Football and academics are the most important factors in making my college decision. I am a hard worker and leader on and off the field and believe that I can contribute to any team.
