Personal Statement
I have been playing hockey since I was a very young kid. There has not been a time on the ice when I haven’t loved every second of it. My sophomore summer, I was lucky enough to play against and with many D1 commits. I was also one of three public school players selected for the Mass CCM USA hockey player development that summer. I found I was capable of competing with elite players and found the game even more enjoyable. This past year, my team was co-state champs (due to Covid): Mass Middlesex, Division I. I lead our defense in points. I have been named co-captain for my senior year. These experiences have given me confidence and motivation to try to play in college.
One of my greatest strengths is my hockey IQ. Coaches can rely on me to find good outlet passes quickly. I have always been a team player in all the sports I have played. I also hold myself to a high standard in sportsmanship. I won a hockey award for sportsmanship and overall play. I am a very coachable player and I strive to be the hardest worker out there. I am talking with PG schools and Junior programs for 21-22.
In my family, education comes first and I work very hard in school taking challenging classes and maintaining a high GPA. My favorite subjects are history and science. I find that my workouts and participation in sports helps me to focus when I am studying. I have spent the "COVID time off" from school and hockey working out in the outdoor gym I created with my dad. I am currently benching 200 pounds 3 reps, and squatting 335 for 6 reps. I have also been working on speed and agility.
My goal is to attend a college that has good academics and a hockey program that will push me to keep improving. I am open to different college sizes and divisions. I ultimately want to find the right college fit at the highest competition level.
