Personal Statement

My first year playing baseball for my high school was an amazing experience for me. At the time I was an oncoming Freshman being shown the ropes by a Junior and Senior catcher who played on Varsity. I played that first year on JV but, did most workouts with the Varsity catchers. My sophomore year I became a starter on my schools Varsity team. I caught a lot along with pitching a few games and playing third base once or twice. Leading into my Junior year in 2020 I was striding to improve myself in preparation for catching on the Varsity team. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak I was unable to play in the spring of 2020. In the off-season I kept myself active and working on my skills and also losing 30 lbs in the process. I am now heading into my senior year I am looking to being the starting third and first baseman for Harvey High School's varsity baseball team.

Along with improving and continuing my baseball game, I also succeed in the classroom. Being a student-athlete has its ups and downs at times but, in the end it becomes rewarding and I expect to continue this throughout high school and college. Baseball to me has really been helpful. It gets frustrating from time to time like anything else would. However, through playing baseball I have become a much more extroverted person. As a young child I wanted to spend most of my time alone. Now after playing baseball for 13 years and being on many different teams I am more social. I believe that through my experience and leadership, on and off the field, I would be an amazing fit for your program and be able to make an immediate impact on your team.
