Personal Statement

I am currently an eighth grader at The Hockaday School. My priorities are faith, family/friends, and my focus on academics and sports. Relationships in all of these areas are the foundation of my every day life.

My educational environment develops and supports my desire to learn and lead. I am proud of my academic success and for the many leadership opportunities I have pursued.

Volleyball, the sport I chose at a young age and have committed much of my time and effort, is definitely my passion. If given the choice, I’ll always decide to train, study, and play the game over other options.  It also has afforded me many learning and leadership opportunities.

I also enjoy participating in track and field. I like being involved in a variety of athletic challenges and pushing myself in different ways.

Community service is very important to me, and I prioritize these opportunities as much as possible. My favorite organizations are Feed My Starving Children and the SPCA. Every chance I get, I like to dedicate and give my time and efforts.

Lastly, I really cherish the time I get to spend on art. I love to paint and draw, and I look forward to any time I can be creative.
