Personal Statement
In the 8th grade I played for a youth football team - 'The Parkland Raiders', and that year we made it to the Championships. Seeing the screaming fans holding up signs with my name, then looking out onto the football field and seeing my teammates - my brothers, I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. When I set this goal I knew it was not going to be easy to accomplish so I vowed to put 110% into everything I had to do to achieve this goal. Every practice, game, school assignment, or test, I prepared for and executed to the fullest of my ability.
After High School I want to play college football, while attending school as a student-athlete. I’m somewhat undecided on the major I want to pursue, but I have been considering Engineering.
My overall goal is to make it to the NFL. There is a very slim chance that I will make it, but deep down inside I know I’m good enough to grab that goal -- and make it mine. Although making it to the NFL is a goal that would benefit myself, I also have another goal that would benefit my community. After getting the funds needed, I would like to open up a Boys & Girls Club facility in the Parkland vicinity so kids have something productive to do on their free time. Growing up I saw too many people go down the wrong path because there was nothing better to do, and I want that to end. I was fortunate enough to be a part of a youth football program that kept me out of trouble, but not everyone enjoys football. So my facility will have something for the interests of everybody.
