Personal Statement
Cole Mazza 2013 NCAA ID#1102426716
I am currently a Junior in High School but I am already looking forward to completing High School and moving on to college. I am 6'1" tall and weigh 250lbs. I enjoy school and enjoy playing football. I have played some sort of football since I was 5 years old. I am currently trying to improve on my long snapping speed and technique. I have attented a few of Chris Rubio's camps and I am also receiving private instruction from him as well. My first competition with Rubio, I received a rating of 3-1/2 and ranked 5th among all in the graduating class of 2013. In my second competition, The Nike Spring event in California, I won the competition for Long Snapping and shortly following Rubio Ranked me #1 in the nation for the class of 2013. He also improved by rating and was rated at 4-1/2 stars. Here is a quote from Rubio "Cole Dominated the Nike Spring Camp in CA. Very close to being a five star Long Snapper.....already! He is massive, strong and ball is like a rocket. Can EASILY hit in the .6s!!! You tell him to work on something regarding his form and consider it done. Remember the name Cole Mazza. RUBIO." Since then, I competed in the Nike 9th Annual National Spring event in Las Vegas. In that competition I ranked 9th overall, out of 89 participants. I was re-evaluated after that event and I remained #1 out of the class of 2013, but improved to a 5 star rating! Here is an updated quote from Rubio "For the first time in the history of Rubio Long Snapping, a sophomore has earned a FIVE STAR ranking. This is unprecedented and very well deserved. Cole is ready RIGHT NOW for the next level. Put it this way, if he was in the class of 2012, I would put him #3 right behind Daly and Ferguson (and both those guys have full offers). Form is exceptional, he is strong, his work ethic is unparralled and, what one of the best things about him....he snaps the ball angry and very, very hard. He is one of the rare Long Snappers I have had in the past ten years that looks like he is out for blood when he snaps. I absolutely love it. Cole could set records if he continues to work hard and let nothing get in his way." I work very hard at Long Snapping and I am a positive team player. I am always at practice on time and I always attend off season weight training as well. Whenever possible, I also attend as many camps as possible during the off season. I am working hard to continually improve and to acheive my goal of playing college football. I would prefer to play football at the division 1 level, but am open to the possibilitiy of playing division 2 or division 3 football. I would like to play for a school in California, Washington, Oregon, Texas, Kansas or Missouri, but all schools in all states would be equally considered. I am currently undecided on my college major, but can say my athletic goal is to play college football at any level.
