Personal Statement

My family does not stem from a long line of football players. Only my grandfather was known to participate in track at a high level, and my father played a bit of recreational soccer.  Despite this, I fell in love with the sport at the age of 11, and have never looked back since then. I eat, sleep, and breathe football, in every activity I participate in. In my eighth grade years of football, neither of my parents attended any of my games with the exception of my dad attending a game for one half. Everything that I poured into football, was all by my self-motivation. I fell in love with the physicality, the brotherhood, and the strategy that went into it, and as soon as I knew that it was possible for me to get a scholarship from playing, I knew I had to. Otherwise, I'm not completely sure I would be able to attend college. In my freshman year of high school, I feel as if I really found my stride. When I say I've fully committed myself into football, I say that with complete confidence and verity. I believe integrity is the best trait about me, as when I say am something or doing something, I mean it sincerely. In no way am I an exceptionally fast learner, I find myself to be average in those regards, however, once I understand something it becomes clockwork. I am borderline obsessed with succeeding, and football ranks at the top of my priorities. I am open to and welcome criticism, as it gives me an opportunity to improve. My work ethic is not a question, as I will do everything in my power to be the best player I can be. I work very well with teammates as I treasure the brotherhood found in football, and albeit I wouldn't describe myself as a resounding leader of the team, on my current high school junior varsity team I am referred to as the leader of the secondary, and always a supportive teammate. Receiving a scholarship to play football at the next level is my current goal, and I will stop at nothing to pursue it, and will be ultimately grateful to receive one. I appreciate your attention, and thank you for reading.
