Personal Statement
I am 5'11, right-handed player who has played competitive sports since the age of 6. I played on one of the top junior soccer teams in the United States as well as being a very accomplished baseball player. I gave up all of these sports due to my passion for tennis. Although I have only played high level tennis for 5 years, I have already been able to accomplish earning a top 25 B-14 ranking as well a top 19 B-16 ranking in the highest tennis level in the state of Texas. Not only am I a very solid singles player, but I have also won a number of "A" draw doubles tournaments as well as reaching the finals of a B14 National open for doubles. Although I have started the recruiting process late, I have a strong desire to play tennis at a competitive level in college. I am looking for a college where I can obtain a degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance. Academics are essential when it comes to looking for the right school and I understand that my ability to play college tennis will depend on not only my success on the court, but also getting the job done in the classroom. I currently have a 3.75 GPA (on an unweighted scale) and ranked in the top 12% of my class. I would bring not only a strong tennis work ethic to the team, but also a strong academic one. A coach would never have to worry about me being out due to academic ineligibility. I believe that my desire to win in both the classroom and on the court makes me a very unique individual. My strong leadership skills on and off the court and my tenacious attitude towards winning would make me an exceptional member of any strong tennis program.
