Personal Statement

Hi I'm Ireland Dawood, I'm currently an athlete for Northern Lights Volleyball Club. I'm looking to play collegiate volleyball at the most competitive level possible. I have been a club volleyball athlete for 7 years. This season due to my Senior schedule I switched clubs from Minnesota One to Northern Lights.  It has been a great experience meeting new teammates and learning a difference clubs coaching style.  I have found being pushed out of my comfort zone to be extremely rewarding.  It is a experience that I feel will help me in the next step of playing volleyball in college.  

My coaches describe me as a dedicated, positive leader and a versatile player. I have played every position on the court and am more than willing to change my position to benefit the team but my primary position is setter.  In 2017 I made a USA High Performance A2 camp. I was chosen to compete with some of the most competitive girls in the country. This was an amazing experience and it allowed me to learn how to play the game at a more advanced level.

My future goals are to obtain a Business, Biology or Medical degree. I'm currently taking multiple health, science, and business classes to set myself up for my upcoming education. I'm also enrolled in honors and advanced placement classes to challenge myself academically. My High School goals are to work hard and get the best grades possible.
